DHEA
(DEHYDROEPIANDROSTERONE)
(Mother Hormone)
DHEA is a hormone produced by your adrenal glands. If you lack it,
there will be no visible sign of disease, but lack of DHEA will lead
to a very visible disease called DEATH. Insofar as we know, DHEA
is the "missing link" in longevity programs. DHEA
stimulates a biochemical called insulin-like growth factor-1
(IGF-1) that sends rebuild-and-restore messages throughout the
body. IGF-1 stimulates the production of Nitrous Oxide (NO) which
dilates blood vessels, improves circulation, and helps prevent the
formation of abnormal clots.
DHEA works with other substances, such as
vitamin E, on a number of different levels. DHEA may even cause
more free radicals, not less - but that difficulty is easily
solved by taking vitamin E as well as other anti-oxidants.
DHEA helps to overcome the American diet. Sugar
is almost pure glucose and the human body is not designed to
handle it. Everyone is so concerned about fat, and yet the same
people who are afraid of a fat molecule consume all sorts of
fat-free rubbish loaded with sugar to make it taste good. Today
the average American eats more glucose in one day than his
ancestors ate in two weeks. DHEA inhibits one of the enzymes
responsible for turning all that sugar into fat, redirecting it
from fat storage to energy.
