            Human Growth Hormone, somatotrophin, is what makes you young and, incidentally, can make the old "young" again.  It is the largest protein produced by the anterior pituitary gland body with 191 amino acids.  It is normally secreted daily in bursts, with the largest amount being released during sleep.  The decline of HGH is directly associated with the symptoms of the disease we call "age" - wrinkling, gray hair, decreased energy and sexual function, increased body fat and cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, etc.  HGH can reverse all of this to some extent. Since HGH is produced by the pituitary gland, we can say that aging is a pituitary deficiency disease.

Growth Hormone stimulates tissue repair, cell replacement, brain function, and enzyme production.  It affects almost every cell in the body, rejuvenating the skin and bones, regenerating the heart, liver, lungs, and kidneys, bringing back organ and tissue function to more-youthful levels.  These changes will be permanent as long as you continue to take the hormone.  If you stop taking it, degeneration will proceed.

Sound too good to be true? The New England Journal of Medicine, a prestigious publication published the clinical study that asserted this in July of 1990.  At that time, the hormone was being given in injections.  You can still take injections, but they are prohibitively expensive.
