TIAN QI DU ZHONG WAN
(General Pain and Injury Formula)
Tian Qi Du Zhong Wan is a
combination of eight herbs, the most important
of which is Tian-qi ginseng (or notoginseng). Notoginseng is one
of the most-powerful trauma
herbs (also appearing in the Chinese patented medicine
Yunnan Bai Yao). It is used for both internal and external
injuries with their
associated bruising, clots, and hemorrhage. It is also one of the
most-effective herbs in
dissolving blood-clots. It additionally lowers blood sugar
and is used in hyperlipidemia. The
combination relaxes muscles and tendons, addresses numbness in the limbs, hemoplegia, soreness,
pain in the legs, intractable headache, dizziness,
coronary heart disease, and angina pectoris.
The eight herbs in Tian Qi Du Zhong Wan are:
Radix notoginseng (shu san qi)
Cortex eucommiae (yan du zhong)
Radix achyranthis bidentatae (niu xi)
Herba taxilli (sang ji sheng)
Rhizoma et radix notopterygii (qiang huo)
Radix angelicae pubescentis (du huo)
Radix rehmanniae (di huang)
